T & C's

We want everyone to enjoy our display so to ensure safety and comfort we have a few T&C's we ask you to abide by:

  • All attendance is entirely at your own risk. By the nature of this event, it may be unsuitable for young children or people of a nervous disposition. Children must be accompanied at all times.
  • There are several steps and uneven ground which is unsuitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or people unsteady on their feet.
  • Animated items, flashing lights, smoke, live actors and other effects are widely used throughout the display but we do not use any strobe effects.
  • Dogs are not allowed due to the effects used. They are, however, welcome in our refreshment area.
  • We will be taking photos and videos of the night for future advertising and social media use.
  • We reserve the right to close the display or part of it at any time without notice.
  • We are in a residential area and ask you park and act with consideration for our neighbours.
  • We recommend an earlier visit for nervous children while it remains light and later to avoid queues.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do we need to book/buy tickets?

No! We don't sell tickets or have any form of booking, just turn up and join the queue, we will get you in to the display as quickly as we can.

In 2025 the queue was too long and too slow.

We are sorry about that. We have reviewed the operations and changed them, Sunday we were able to get people through the display much faster and we hope that this will not be a problem in 2026.

Can we go around as a group?

We always try to keep groups together, however, you may be asked to split if you are in a large group as there is a maximum number that can go around each time.

Can we park nearby?

There are no on street restrictions in the area but please park with consideration for our neighbours. The parking at the Gloucester Avenue shops is now camera controlled. Please see the signs in the car park and bear in mind you may have to queue to enter the display plus the time it may take to get around it.

Is the display accessible/wheelchair friendly?

Regrettably not. Even without the narrow passages of the display, our garden is over several levels involving a series of steps. There is even a step up to get to the back of the house.

Can we dress up for Halloween?

Absolutely - it's always great to see people making an effort! Just please ensure you are safe in the display and can see clearly

Why can't my dog come in?

We know that some dogs are really well behaved, but this display included effects, smoke, darkness, and many other effects that may scare even the best of dogs, we would hate any of them to become upset and get hurt.

I don't do Halloween but can I still donate to Farleigh Hospice?

We totally understand that this isn't for everyone, however Farliegh do such great work and deserve every support we can give them. You can donate to them directly through their website (put Ravenskull Manor in as the reference so they know where you got the information from) or when we are open you can come through to our "Visitor Centre" where there will be donation buckets.

Do you use strobe lights?

Absolutely not. We want the display to be as accessible to everyone as possible. There are smoke effects, light effects, etc but no strobes.

How scary is the display?

There are jump scares, sudden noises and other effects - we have found in the past that, while we do get screams, most children can enjoy the display (Mums less so it seems ;-) ).

Can we see the display without the actors and the full on scares?

Yes - we open for an hour on Saturday 1st November at 3pm before it gets too dark and without all the noises and actors.

Do you do Trick or Treat?

Yes we have bags availble at our Visitor Centre, just come in and say "Trick or Treat" (Non-verbal requests will be honoured too!).

I can't have sweets etc - is there an alternative?

Yes! We will have a number of fruit bags available upon requests.

Is there a suggested donation?

No, but please give as generously as you can afford. Every penny helps Farleigh Hospice.

What is a "Home Haunt"?

A home haunt is an amateur production scare maze built on a private property and opened to the public, usually to raise funds for charity.

How much of the money I donate goes to Farleigh Hospice?

100% of the money put in the buckets for the Hospice goes to them. The whole display is financed by the home owner and supporters. There is a seperate donation box if you feel you would like to contribute to the costs, but the main focus of the collection is for Ferleigh Hospice.
